Senior Estimator

Our success starts with an investment in and commitment to our people. The Senior Estimator will report directly to the Vice President of Pre-construction. As Senior Estimator, you’ll be involved in all aspects of the construction process on a variety of projects from historic renovations and restorations to architecturally forward ground-up projects.


Your main responsibilities will be to prepare budgets by studying plans, reviewing specifications, and identifying all project costs for a variety of jobs. All while effectively communicating with architects, design professionals, subcontractors, and suppliers in order to obtain bids while qualifying all subcontractors and negotiating price.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Analyze project proposals to evaluate and prepare requests for estimates
  • Prepare weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates
  • Review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy
  • Attend bid meetings and develop and execute bid strategy
  • Gather construction documents and review historical cost data to understands scope of work to bid
  • Execute quantity surveys of construction documents
  • Prepare estimates in corporate software
  • Obtain pricing for materials
  • Obtain bids from subcontractors
  • Prepare cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items
  • Make an estimate where predetermined standard(s) are not available
  • Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
  • Attend departmental meetings as required


Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • At least seven years of estimating experience in Commercial Building Construction
  • Working knowledge of construction estimating concepts
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting plans and specifications
  • Highly Organized
